There's also GQ-LDAP.  It's a pretty nice gnome LDAP client; it should
be pretty much standard on almost any distro (eg, redhat, debian, etc)
depending on how much you install.  On redhat, the rpm is definitely on
the CD if it's not already installed on your redhat box

You can't edit the schema, but you can edit all the object attributes
(ie, basic directory info).  Give it a try.
