because it's annoying when a program crashes under Linux even
more often than it crashes under Windows.

really prefer Debian, its packaging system, and the fact that it works

You'll need to download/install the source files for the kernel image of your
choice (2.0.36, 2.2.9, etc...). Suggest you read/skim the kernel HOWTO, and
the debian docs on creating a custom kernel (since the "debian way" is a

well, i have some more info. I did a strace ./lftp and there's something
wrong with the terminal info getting or so.

Hi all. I've recently installed Debian on my system and i would like to use
X11. But the moment i start the configuration file, it changes to virual
mode and i can't do anything anymore. So i still don't have a
XF86Config-file to start X.

Both daemons seem to start fine, but do not seem to be logging
anything. 'plog' returns nothing, probably because ppp.log is empty.
Okay, /dev/log is a socket, but do you have any idea why it is not being

Is anyone using RealPlayer G2? I downloaded it tonight and installed it
in my home directory. It runs when I click on a link that's a real audio
type file, but then it responds with this error:
Cannot open the audio device. Another application may be using it.

Brian is right . I had the same problem and no way to solve this unless
buy a new one . Hopefully , modems are cheap now .
