Dear, Volunteer
First I'll start with that ZDNet said that installing Debian Linux is by far the most difficult I found it was totally easy I just followed the instructions in the install man. which were online and easy to find, thanx!         Next comes my problem: I installed the most current version found in the man. chap. 5 'Methods for installing Debian'.

I got to the setup process where it wanted to use dselect to download a debian package, but was unable to continue. I can guess after some "tinkering" that it can't recognize my Zoom PCI-bus modem for some reason. I went thought the pppconfig and set up first with ttys1-comm2 and then went back to change it back to default ttys0-comm1.

I know that this is probably a simple and dumb question but I'm all out of ways to solve it! I poured over debian http; called the book store they had never heard of Debian/Linux. I even tried to ask the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences ( I know he uses Linux ), but he was out all day; that leaves me with you. Can you help me figure out how to tell 'bash' were my modem is so that I can install a set of packages?
thanx -Jeremy
