by booting the old kernel and then converting it to pvgrub.
But... I am unable to create new pvgrub compatible DomU's now because
xen-create-image does not support pvgrub.

In debian unstable since kernel 4.18 creation of unprivileged containers
does not work anymore.
This is due to EPERM when opening /dev/null. See

A userspace solution have been implemented in LXC as of version 3.0.2 as
ug was launched on my desktop

IIRC, it was an issue with Maven 2.x handling of plugin default version :
Maven use a super-pom (embeded inside maven-core.jar AFAIK)
which enforce versions of some plug
