Installing the upgrades mentioned here did not enable any options for
choosing the phonetic layout for Russian on the Japanese keyboard.
They were gone since I did an upgrade to squeeze.

Hi, yesterday (23/Nov) I upgraded my squeeze install
and experienced the same problem. The system hangs at
the login screen.
I noticed udev complains of having been started twice, and
in fact there were two identical S02udev scripts, one in
rcS.d and the other in rc2.d.
