This is not a bug in perl, works as documented in 'man perlretut'.
The issue is with the /g modifier, as shown with script:

print "Testing '$x' with m/boot/g, every second one is bad:\n";

I'd like to be able to close a window by alt-right-clicking on it, but I
can't seem to do that with icewm. I can't use xmodmap either, because
I want the other 2 buttons for move and resize.

Hello Max,
good news! I installed the recent kernel linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-686 and
updated kvm 72+dfsg-5 to qemu-kvm 0.11.1+dfsg-1.

I want to second the last error report.
With grub-pc 1.98~20100128-1
the installation of a new kernel fails because of the error message
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: unknown filesystem.

Oh. I know what this means now. I was thinking of glass windows. Or
maybe MS Windows. There is no point in time where the user would have
the wrong permissions, as long as the package scripts are done
correctly.

I can not reproduce it. In my system it create the date as 2010
(without comma).
I don't know if could be a problem related with the locale, but I tried with
your locale (LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8) and it didn't appear.
Do you have any idea what can be different in your system?

Sorry, still doesn't work (tried last night). python-qt4 still needs a
build for 2.6.

Nevermind, I reproduced it here. qt is doing bad things, but we
shouldn't crash.

I don't have time lately to care about this package.
Indeed I don't time for real care since about years.
It would be glad if sy. could continue the work, care about to correspond
to utf8 things, to package the new upstream version from
magyarispell.sourceforge.net,
