Sorry to spoil the fun, but adding "usplash_write QUIT" at the beginning
of /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-premount/{resume,uswsusp}
does not fix the problem for me.
Is there a particular place in those files where I should add the
command? or is this workaround limited?

Debian bug #473571 (CC'ed). Could you please take a look and clarify which
