Package: vim Version: 1:7.1.293-3 Severity: important Did a apt-get dist-upgrade tonight, and vim now conflicts with vim-common. So now, when I dist-upgrade, vim-gui-common and vim-runtime are updated, and vim, vim-gnome, vim-gtk, and vim-python are slated for removal. Doing an apt-cache show on vim shows that the new version conflicts with vim-common.
