*** It seems like the doc above gives a bit more information about what's
happening. Especially the next parapgraph:

"Then pppd will start reporting, and will probably give some error
message. One possibility is the message containing the line

Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0

*** We're geting warm.

This means that your ISP was not expecting you to negotiate ppp at this
point. It almost certainly means that your ISP wants you to log on first.

*** It's geting hotter!

You may at this point get no response from the far system at all-- ie,

Try replacing the '\d\c' in the above line with the word CLIENT, and try

*** That's for tonight.

This indicates that you have an Win NT RAS server as your ISP.

*** Bummer! What happened to those people!?? The used to have Sun
servers! Anyway, I'll keep you up to date. If I get to make this work,
what should I do to get it eventually in the relevant HOWTO? Do I contact
the writer directly or do I go to the LDP's website and propose the
update?

Cheers!
