Okay, I'm sure somebody saw this happen before in his log and could
whisper the answer into my ear as to why it is happening and especially
how not to see it happen anymore.

My ISP is changing the phone number so everybody can connect nationaly at
a local rate. The idea is very nice except each time I try to use that
number, the conection hangs up and I get the following log:

        Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean
        Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0

Actually, I don't have a clue as to what it means, let alone know where to
look for a solution.

The modem is a 14400 external Philips and works without problems. The
above logs I get only when calling the new number!

Can anybody help?
