The new number takes you to a treminal server that is set up to only take
PAP or CHAP autheration.  It starts to processes the User/Password pair,
discovers it isn't set up to handle it properly, and hangs up.  You can
try complaining to your ISP, or set up PAP autheration on your Linux box.
