*** Just an add-on to my previous reply: I noticed that loging in with
minicom using the old number the connection is established directly after
I type my password - I get modem noise (looked very similar to the
sendmail.cf file ;-))) - while using the new number makes minicom stop at
this screen:

    Entering PPP Session.

    MTU is 1524.

After a minute I get a "NO CARRIER" message.

Any idea?
