no offense intended, but as far as i know, standard business procedure is for businesses to accomodate customers, not the other way around.

inconvenient is a relative term.  compared with being able to download a completely up to date iso, i would say the alternative is inconvenient.

just my opinion.

Maybe, that should issue a recall, huh?   Get real.  Look at what it cost for RH9 compared to windows, if you want to know well RH9 can be FREE.  I don’t think they should have waited as long as they did to publish the update, but you have the mechanism available to update and it is cheap for them to do it that way, so the minor inconvenience of having to download the rpm’s is a strain I know.  You can install RH9 access the internet and download the RPM’s to update rhn and then update your system.  To be perfectly honest you are going to have to update your system anyway so you just have to update the updater first.  I don’t think it is standard business practice, to issue a new version after shipment.  GM’s don’t give you a new car when they screw up.

Yes, inconvenient is the operative word.  Who do you think they are going to put through gyrations, you are them.  They would have to create a new version to update the ISO’s so that ain’t going to happen for this update, so you are going to have to live with it.  I mean it is not that inconvenient. Procedure—download the necessary rpm’s.  Install the system update the up2date then update your system.

Well you can’t really get it from the RHN (at least not with via up2date). Basically as soon as you install a RedHat distro you have to manually download and install an update just to connect to RHN. That’s fairly inconvenient and something that I would expect from a less mature distro. I think it would warrant an ISO update, at least for 9.

I don’t mean to be nasty, but do you really think they would go to the expense of updating the iso’s  to add a fix that you can get from the rhn?

Has RedHat updated their ISO’s to include the new SSL cert so that you don’t have to add it to new installations manually?
