I agree with you. I also have a Thinkpad X100e, which has a 11.6" screen, for portability. It's an excellent little machine. The reason I also bought a laptop (17") to be my Lightroom static machine is that my house is very small, and most desktops within my budget have far too large a footprint for the small office space I have in my house. I don't do any copying back and forth in general - each machine is dedicated to its purpose. The only copying is to the backup NAS server.
