You can do the test yourself with a 35mm camera or a D/DS with two different lenses:

- Fit a 50mm lens and set up a group of objects at 5' distance. Take a photo.
- Don't move the camera, fit a 28mm lens, focus and take a photo.


Once you process the film or download the image, enlarge the section of the image in the 28mm shot to fit the 50mm shot. You'll see the perspective exactly matches.

Focal length is not an issue in perspective, distance is.

Again, there is NO difference in perspective between a 28mm lens on
24x36 and an 18mm lens on 16x24. Perspective is wholly dependent upon
subject to camera distance.
