I'd like to ask *ist DS owners regarding their experience with this camera so far. Yay or nay? Any problems encountered? Ease of use? Any feature you wish it had? Satisfaction so far? I'm at the stage where I can finally (although barely) afford a DSLR and want to get owner's opinions on the camera. Thank you very much and hope to hear from the group.

Heartily yay. Have a dozen other film cameras, and haven't touched one in the time I've had the DS. Love the way it handles, the simplicity of the operation, and the beautiful viewfinder. Only minor complaints I could think of...it would be nice to have auto ISO in the ISO selection menu, rather than buried in the settings, and it would be good to be able to switch between auto AF zone and manually-selectable zone faster than having to go though two windows in the shooting menu. Buy one and you won't regret it.
