Hello Shel, Guess I should weigh in on this one. I am overall quite happy with the D. Many of the features to make it be more competitive I probably don't use. For the little I use AF, it is good enough. Not seeing a great need or desire for IS either. Low light performance (lack of noise) is quite important for me, so that could not be weakened in a new body. It would need to be at least as good. More pixels would be good if the noise stayed low and also that my lenses could take advantage of the increased resolution.
If I had to pick things that would really make me consider it, one would be much faster buffer processing/writing of raw. Another would be consistent, flexible TTL Flash. And NO, I don't want P-TTL type stuff - I find that too many people blink on that first flash and I get more eyes closed problems. And a demonstrably better dynamic range would be nice, too. Getting latitude that approaches print film (single shot, not double images or double conversions from raw) would be nice. -- Best regards, Bruce Wednesday, March 9, 2005, 6:35:12 AM, you wrote: SB> It seems that Pentax may soon be coming out with a replacement for the SB> istD.
