A UUID is a particular format and scheme for generating unique identifiers.

If all clients use the same scheme, then my understanding is that the chance of a collision is very tiny indeed - Wikipedia has various suggestions about explaining how unlikely it is.

In practise, though, unique rooms could easily be made a distinct feature without any problems, and they're not a difficult thing to implement server-side.

The harder problem is deciding which MUC service to create such a room on.
