Forgive me if I am in error, but I don't think you need a crossover
cable with the G3. I am not sure, but somewhere along the way the
ethernet ports on Mac became "smarter" so to speak :)
Anyhow, no prob using a plain ethernet cable between my eMAc and 7200.

Ethernet is the answer.
1. Put the card in the 7100
2. Get an Ethernet "crossover cable".
3. Set AppleTalk and TCP/IP to ethernet
4. Enable file sharing on both
5. Enable "Guest" log-in on both for file sharing.(so you don't have to
go
through Userpassword setup "crap"
6. log-onto one or the other as a server...through the chooser
7. Transfer yer brains out
LOL...It took me longer to type this note than it would you you to
actually
do it.
Cheers
David

Subject: Transferring data
Hi folks
I want to transfer data from a 7100 Mac to a G3 blue & white tower.
Since the latter has no disk drive is it possible to do it with an
ethernet connection. (I have an ethernet card I can install in the
7100.) Or is there some other easy way?
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has done this type of
data transfer, as well as any suggestions you have.
Thanks
Paul
