Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-14499:
------------------------------------

People following a link to [https://lucene.apache.org/solr/foo] will be
forwarded to [https://solr.apache.org/foo].

I have experimented with sniffing the {{Referrer}} header, and displaying a
modal info box when someone land on the site from a redirect. The box informs
about Solr being a new project, and links to the news item about what folks
need to do. This is how it currently looks like.

!solr-has-moved-modal.png|width=600!

Should probably set a cookie once the box is closed, to avoid it to re-appear
next time the same user clicks such a link. Feedback welcome.
