Jan Høydahl commented on SOLR-14499:
------------------------------------
Just realized that the 301 Redirect from .htaccess will not result in Referrer
being lucene.apache.org, it will still be the URL of the original link. Two
options:
# Add a request parameter {{&fromLucene=true}} on the redirect, and detect
redirects it this way
# Flash the note on *first visit for everyone*, with a slightly different text:
{quote}*Solr has a new home!*
Solr is now an independent Apache project here at +solr.apache.org+
Please update your links. +Read more about what it means for you+.
{quote}
Option #2 can be tested by visiting any page on the staged site, e.g.
[https://lucene-solrtlp.staged.apache.org/security.html]. We'll set the cookie
{{alreadyVisited=yes}}, and the next time you visit there will be no popup.
