I have a problem that my brother is sitting in London with several phones, both old and new, and I am sitting in Haifa with my old phone which works. I can borrow a new phone, and that fails on the checker program. I have a lot of experience on Java http://petctviewer.org but very limited experience on Android. I don't know the nitty gritty details about what is going on under the hood. For that I need to depend upon my brother who is an MD. He wants to detect a neural protein but isn't terribly computer savvy.
If you had access to a new phone which fails the play store USB OTG checker programs then you could make sense out of what is going on. It might somehow still be alive in spite of the fact that the checker programs say that it is dead.
