I agree with Julian's word and would like to share a previous thread

I respect people who contribute and dedicate a lot to the project
while trying to apply a guideline: recognizing someone as the
"@author" often creates an invisible bar - it is THEIR project, not
OURS.

We already have an M&P policy to guide the usage of this kind of term
and it should work.
