I have never had a problem with this for any of my Asus motherboards; I
have had several through the years.  I once had an issue booting a
nonstandard bootdisk but I don't recall the manufacturer of that
motherboard.  Even my latest UEFI one works, but I have only used their
motherboards, not any of the other devices branded by them.  I have had to
download BIOS updates from TW not US site to get latest version.   I
mention this as usually I use ASUS motherboard based computers for my
physical testing; my older computers are no longer easy to use so I usually
use VMs now.
