Hello,

It's often a pain to get these drivers working properly; here are some
hints about how to install the drivers on Ubuntu 14.04, reboot in console
mode:

mount -o remount,rw /
apt-get --purge remove nvidia-*

R
eboot and go to the drivers manager (hope there's something similar on
Mint)

Use the 331.38 from nvidia-331 (proprietary, tested), like on the image
above. Reboot, open Nvidia X server settings application and go in PRIME
Profiles panel, make sure it's on Nvidia (performance mode). Note that you
have to log in again for changes to take effect (or maybe even reboot,
can't remember).

After that OpenCL works great on my test machine (Dell Precision M6700)

Bye
