I tried to install the 343.22 driver from Nvidia's website yesterday evening and it was a complete disaster. First the installer gave a message that a pre-install script failed to run and if I would like to install anyway or not. I chose to proceed, and everything seemed to go well, no more errors. Then after I rebooted into a normal session Cinnamon crashed. I got a message that Cinnamon crashed and if I would like to restart it. When I chose 'yes' I just got the same message again. Also tried to reboot, but nothing helped, so I just reinstalled the whole system.
I guess troubleshooting this isn't something to do on this list, but I am really at a loss about what to do. I feel that this new i5 dualcore CPU is not much faster than my old Celeron Duo when working in Darktable, although I have not tested very much. Therefore I could really need some help from the GPU.
