Picking up on this bug, I see that the request is (now) mostly to have this backported to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. (see Jay's comment #51). So I'm marking Oracular as WontFix, according to SRU policy "When there are two subsequent interim releases" [1]. And I'm inclined to also close Jammy, as that doesn't seem to be needed any more and we're having a hard time reproducing the issue.
In comment #49 JayF mentions that he'd be willing to help with SRU verification and they also have Ubuntu Noble running in their CI, which provides an environment for reproduction and verification.
