I'm attempting to use virt-manager to create a Windows XP VM. This
worked previously but for some reason does not anymore (as of this
weekend). The problem may be related to libvirtd though because it
happens when trying to create the VM from the command line.

MySQL isn't installed in /opt. The myslqd is the Ubuntu one in
/usr/sbin/mysqld. On this system, /usr/share is symlinked to /opt/share
and has been since the system was installed (and prior to the mysql
package being installed). The mysql package was upgraded a number of
times with apt-get dist-u
information about apparmor. It looks as though
it might be a very useful security tool, but I would want to read about
it in depth and consider the impact very carefully before running it on
a production box.

It's not a bad idea however to burn the Jaunty CD for test purposes -
that will just let people know whether it's still an issue in the latest
version or not. Booting from the live CD won't affect the current
working configuration, and if you're lucky, it'll let the bug be marked
'fixed' :)

When I remove the applet, the CPU goes back down. When I re-add it, it
doesn't necessarily climb back up immediately, but it will before long.

I've seen this happen when I've had an extension get 'stuck' somehow.
See if you have one that's persistently claiming that it will be
upgraded when firefox restarts, and remove it, restart FF, and reinstall
it. I think that's what fixed it for me, it's possible your problem is
different.

Tried downloading the daily build livecd and run it.
It failed horribly. That is, I got crashes on several programs. gdb,
dkms, firefox and the nvidia driver, but not a crash on depmod.

The debian package that should be synced is the latest debian version,
so it should be fixed. The changelog talks about all these changes, and
I see the things you're talking about in the diff-file.

Binary package hint: artwiz-cursor
The Package artwiz-cursor fails to uninstall il my Ubuntu Dapper Drake.
Synaptic throws an error and artwiz-cursor is only half-uninstalled.
Xorg fails to restart after that (error that cursor is missing). I have to
reinstall artwiz-cursor
Oh sorry, I forgot to mention the exact version of artwiz-cursor I'm
using (I think the last one) : 1:1.3-2ubuntu1.
