But then it's completely impossible to connect if there's a SSH connection
open, or the other way around.
I switched to Openvpn because of this ssh/pptp bug, and have always been able
to connect with standard Openvpn (linux and windows) configured as a client.
Very weird.

is; a passsword without blanks.
I can't confirm for Debian yet. Haven't updated for a while.

I think I know how to avoid this.
We should disable the following during install:
- KDED module Mediamanager
- KDED module Medianotifier
I don't know how to do it, but for someone with knowledge of the kde
code I think it should be rather simple to do.

I've been experimenting (a lot) with startup in edgy:
If I startup with my external HD (also usb) ON, the mouse will almost never
work.
If the external HD is OFF the mouse almost allways works.
I have no idea why I'm experiencing these troubles... But I get the same
results with the HD every tim

I have the same problem.
KDE has the right time, but when I choose my timezone the installer
produces a timezone that is two hours off.
Just curious: Why is it that anybody want their hardware clock set to
utc? I don't understand it.

I tried out Edgy beta and it still starts with 640x480. What is a strange is
that in someway it does autodetect the settings.

I'm having exact the same problem, only, I do not have spaces in my password.
Decrypting the private passwordfiles without password is not an option. It's
not my network.
Would be nice though, using networking manager to connect. Although good
old openvpncmd does it well.

In hardy there's even a bigger problem. If you change the hostname with
KNetworkManager, the /etc/hosts file is also not updated which causes
sudo to fail:

I've just tried with the kubuntu dapper live desktopcd and it doesn't work
there either. But it does the same sort of "nothern lights.." as I was refering
to before therefore it cannot be the Aiglx.

I have a Synaptics touchpad and when I boot edgy up it takes 2-3 seconds
before I'm able to use the mouse after first touching it (KDE is fully
loaded).
In dapper I can use it instantly.
