Usually if I install nis package, I am going to use it. So what's the
problem to trigger a lightdm.conf entry??? Btw. it is much more
irritating to have no possipility to login, than to have an additional

I recently reverted to the nvidia-drivers 290.10, to avoid X session

Installing cups-filters from precise-proposed fixed the problem for me.
I had enough trouble stumbling through the process of applying the fix,

Okay I tried the kernel I linked to above and got a kernel panic. So
since the mainline kernel didn't fix the bug that means I should add the
"kernel-bug-exists-upstream" tag.
