Public bug reported: Grep Version: 2.12 Ubuntu Version: 12.10
Running "zgrep -r" reports the following message: /bin/zgrep: -r: option not supported Since the man page for zgrep indicates that all options are passed directly to grep I would assume that all grep options are supported by zgrep. If gnu zgrep does not support all grep options then the man page should indicate this. As a side note, BSD zgrep does support recursive search. ** Affects: grep (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1165740 Title: zgrep recursive search not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grep/+bug/1165740/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
