Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Firefox has lost all settings: bookmarks, home page, passwords,
everything. Cannot set and keep a new home page. Firefox starts with a
blank page and when the "home" icon is pressed, the Firefox home starts.
Using Ubuntu Hardy Heron. Problem
Workaround is to uninstall Firefox 3 with Synaptic, and then install
Firefox 2 with Add/Remove. All "lost" data recovered with the
installation of Firefox 2. Firefox 3 is reinstalled at the same time,
but still is broken.

I've noted in Gutsy Tribe 4 (and now 5) that I have not had a single
lockup in any situation where I normally had a lockup. I think this is
most likely due to the newer version of Xorg being used. If any of you
have the spare space, I'd try testing out Gutsy and see how your results

It looks like the loading now works, however, the custom DSDT that I had
used in Feisty no longer works in Gutsy. I attempted to load a couple
other DSDTs which caused my system to hardlock until I removed them and
rebuild the initrd, which is how I know the loading functionality works.
