I've noted in Gutsy Tribe 4 (and now 5) that I have not had a single
lockup in any situation where I normally had a lockup.  I think this is
most likely due to the newer version of Xorg being used.  If any of you
have the spare space, I'd try testing out Gutsy and see how your results
are, or at least upgrade when the actual release hits.  It's very
possible this might be solved.
