I'm seeing something similar with my Compaq nx7400, running 9.04 Alpha:
hibernation seems to work, but a few minutes after restart the computer
freezes completely.
I'm quite sure that this did not happen when I started running 9.04,
some three weeks ago, so I suspect something has regressed in the

15-second timeout I found actually kills the metadata operation
prematurely. You cannot trust the metadata displayed by Rhythmbox after
a metadata operation, since Rhythmbox will update its display
immediately without waiting f

That makes it more difficult than necessary to check for errors in shell

I got the same problem in Ubuntu 7.10 (64-bit): no toolbar icons in

I have double-checked my power-management profiles, which state that the

It's not just about deleting the file. Dolphin isn't able to pass the
filename to the application it launches if I try to open the file.
Nautilus handles this fine.
