Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
I have double-checked my power-management profiles, which state that the machine should suspend to RAM on laptop lid closed. Nevertheless, it only blanks the screen when I close the lid. Strangely enough, it seems that if I have by some other means performed a suspend to RAM earlier in my session, the machine will indeed obey the profile setting and suspend to RAM on lid close after that. How to reproduce: 0) Make sure you have not performed a suspend to RAM since you last booted the machine. 1) System Settings -> Power Management -> Edit Profiles. 2) Open the profile corresponding to your current power profile. 3) Set "When laptop lid closed" to "Suspend to RAM". 4) Press Apply. 5) Close laptop lid. Expected result: The machine should suspend to RAM. Actual result: The machine does not suspend to RAM.
