Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace
I have never been able to load KDE successfully on this laptop under Lucid Lynx. I log in via gdm, I see the splash screen load to completion, and then everything turns black. All I see is an error message at the top of the screen, something about Nepomuk and Virtuoso, but I don't think that is the main cause since I get that also on my other machine, which is able to load KDE fine. I am able to start applications via Alt+F2, but they don't have any window decorations. Thankfully, Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up the Logout dialog. I mentioned that I can run KDE on another machine. That machine has Intel graphics, this one has Nvidia graphics.
