No, it just means that HAL call to change brightness succeeded (no error
by powermanager), but it silently failed (did not change brightness). So
this is more likely HAL or kernel issue.

This cannot be caused by quidance-power-management as all the cpufreq
stuff is done by kernel (ondemand) and powernowd (if ondemand is not
supported). It may be that hibernate/suspend preparation does something
wrong.
Can you attach:
- output of "dmesg"
- output of "cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/*
Can you also attach /var/log/acpid file and output of "lshal -m" when
you close the lid.

Daniel, I also had second thoughts before, this is why I did not package
earlier 0.7.x versions (even though I have tried them). However 0.7.2 is very
complete and from limited tests in past days also stable enough. Older version
is in OpenSUSE 10.2 and thsi one will be in 10.3.

Yes, ChangeLog delta of strigi is in main description (sorry, I did not
strictly follow the rule to attach the diff of the ChangeLog files). I
have made a mistake as I have wrongly put strigi changelog in this bug,
instead of the one for strigiapplet.

Already attached oops.txt provides full dmesg output together with the
crash. Same goes with "uname -a" - see first line.
I am attaching lspci output now. BTW, you need to instruct users to run
lspci with "sudo", otherwise most of information will not be reported
(access denied).

It would help if network-manager & network-manager-gnome could be removed w/o
removing ubuntu-desktop. So changing it to Recomends in the feeds would help.
Note: this is already done for kubuntu-desktop and knetworkmanager - some HW is
not supported by n-m and removal is the best fix.
