Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
On request from Jonathan, I have tested Edgy -> Feisty upgrade of my Kubuntu install. I have followed the steps described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuDistUpgrade Updater started to work, warned me that some repositories were disabled and then it crashed with the following stack trace: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/tmp/kde-root/adept_updatertPw04b.tmp-extract/dist-upgrade.py", line 47, in ? app.run() File "/tmp/kde-root/adept_updatertPw04b.tmp-extract/DistUpgradeControler.py", line 839, in run self.fullUpgrade() File "/tmp/kde-root/adept_updatertPw04b.tmp-extract/DistUpgradeControler.py", line 817, in fullUpgrade if not self.askDistUpgrade(): File "/tmp/kde-root/adept_updatertPw04b.tmp-extract/DistUpgradeControler.py", line 515, in askDistUpgrade if not self._checkFreeSpace(): File "/tmp/kde-root/adept_updatertPw04b.tmp-extract/DistUpgradeControler.py", line 497, in _checkFreeSpace free_at_least = apt_pkg.SizeToStr(abs(fs_free[dir].free)+1) TypeError: Only understand integers and floats Another minor point: when I clicked on link to file a bug, I got this report: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/tmp/kde-root/adept_updatertPw04b.tmp-extract/DistUpgradeViewKDE.py", line 361, in openURL KRun.runURL(KURL(url), "text/html") NameError: global name 'KRun' is not defined ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Kubuntu upgrade edgy -> feisty crash https://launchpad.net/bugs/89049 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
