The integrated webcam on my Advent 4211 (MSI Wind copy) does not work on
Intrepid Ibex RC (or Hardy Heron). All the other hotkey functions seem
to work fine.
Typing lsusb gives me:

I have just installed the Intrepid Ibex RC and I no longer have the
problem, maybe it is just a beta issue? My system is up to date at the

I am confirming that the fix worked on my laptop (Sony Vaio VGN-N31S).
I made a fresh install of 8.04, deleted quiet option, booted to live
session, installed Ubuntu, restarted.
After restart I hit 'esc', edited the grub command lines, booted into

I managed to get working after going to the berlios.de website and then
compiling the uvc driver. I followed a thread in the Ubuntu forums to
fix, but I can not access it now (network connection error) or I would
post the link.

webcam does not seem to work. Typing lsusb and toggling the webcam on
and off does show an extra line, but under cheese and skype I can not
detect the webcam and the 'on' light never turns on. I had a

'jumpy'. This has only started once I upgraded. If I turn the desktop
effects ON there is no change, but all my windows become slow & clumsy.
I had been using compiz in 7.04 and everything looked amazing, not a

running under 7.04, only since the upgrade to 7.10.

I have an Intel GMA 950 card, Firefox scrolling is clumsy even with the
desktop effects off. I have yet to get Compiz working, very slow and
clumsy when turned on.
A number of threads on the forums refer to these problems but no
solutions yet!
