I'm having the same problem: X server locking up.
I have a VIA EPIA 1 mobo.
It's a home brew with a LCD 1280x1024 connected to VGA.
Booted via PXE using the Xubuntu Intrepid Live image downloaded about a
week ago.
Can boot to console, but when I bring up the X server it locks and Ctrl-
Alt-F

This happens when clicking save or pressing Ctrl+S. The "double free
or corruption" always happens if the database is already "saved" when

then re-import as a new database. The new database does not crash

ReiserFS work-around: create a ReiserFS partition especially to hold
/var/lib/dpkg/info. ReiserFS was specifically designed to handle

Exactly the same complaint: I can connect and begin browsing, but as
soon as any real load is placed on the card it drops. The problem only
started after the recent kernel update to 2.6.32-17.

NM 0.8 fails to bring up UMTS connect
I am not sure that the original bug is still what we are experiencing
here. There is no longer a kernel Oops - the kernel appears to
repeatedly bring up and tear down the USB interface with the modem.
This makes the modem completely unusable by network-manager or any other
app.

I have had the same problem on Ubuntu karmic and Suse 11.1. Both
installations went well (apart for the fact the GRUB overwrites the disk
area used by the RAID on my system in both cases - this is solved by
removing stage1_5 from the GRUB installation directory - rename/move or
delete the file).

I get a Plasma shell crash at varying times - usually once a day or so.
Something that seems to trigger it fairly predictably is switching
desktops while certain activities are busy doing network stuff.

Hello, I attempted to install the driver on my Lenovo L540 but am
consistently getting Kernel Panic when I reboot after installation. I'm
using 3.13.0-36-generic and simply cloned the repository, and did "make;
sudo make install".
I've attached the make log (with some warnings) and dmesg, but it l
x27;ve attached dmesg, if that will be any help.

I have found the same bug on debian wheezy b4. Totem (3.0.1) caused
strobing severe enough to make me feel slightly ill. I imagine this
could be dangerous! Reported at debian also. File a lame encoded mp3
with embedded albim art jpg. intel hd400 chipset amd64. I'm guessing

Seems I spoke too soon as the black screen has now re-appeared with this
install. After a couple of reboots, the screen is still black. I have
applied the latest upstream kernel as suggested and the desktop is now
visible again although very slow as mentioned before. As before, not
