The borders come back for me, but I should have noted that I only tested

Public bug reported:
Booting from RAID5 should work according to
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.boot-loaders.grub.devel/8569, but
when I installed such a system, it just hung without ever making it to
the boot prompt. It looked as if it loaded grub from the MBR, but then,
of course, couldn't
How does explaining that in this ticket amount to fixing the problem?

No time to reproduce it today and get a backtrace, but I can confirm the
bug (or something very like it) is still present on Intrepid. I am
running fglrx + compiz, and if I play enough video in that configuration
Xorg will reliably crash... eventually.
I'm reopening this bug so that you'll bug me
@Dean, could you please explain why this isn't a valid bug against
Ubuntu Documentation?
Thanks

I can confirm that, having mapped Caps Lock to Control, my laptop
keyboard's Caps Lock acts as a control key but my external keyboard's
caps lock does not. Re-mapping it in gnome-keyboard-properties with the
external keyboard connected makes all Caps Locks (including the
laptop's) act as control,

Binary package hint: udev
This is in intrepid (8.10). My version of udev is 124-9 but I have no
idea if that's the right package.
I get loads of these in my syslog, even when my primary network
connection is wired. Simply plugging in an external USB keyboard causes
a flood
Still a problem for me in Intrepid with an external keyboard on my
laptop
