I'd like to chime in here with a few observations.
1) When gathering data from powertop one needs to ensure the sample time is
long enough and also one takes a bunch of samples to ensure you are getting
valid data.
2) The power consumption measurements from some batteries is tricky to estimate

pm-suspend differ in suspending the machine.
For rtcwake, the wakealarm is set and then the machine is put into
suspend by directly writing to /sys/power/state to perform the suspend.

mess as apw is seeing. Again, Downgrading libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-
dri and libglapi-mesa to 8.0.4 fixes the issue for me.

30 seconds then quite rightly it has failed to meet the S3 test standard

This sounds like the embedded controller is getting hung or loosing it's
mind - stuff like fan control going haywire, hotkeys not working.
Normally the way to temporarily cure this is to remove the AC and the
battery and let the machine fully power down (as you did). I suggest

FACP Preferred_PM_Profile type 3 is a "workstation", DMI type 1c is a
blade, so this looks like the FACP is a little bit misleading.
The FACP should be probably set to one of:
4 -Enterprise Server
5 -SOHO Server
7 - Performance Server
..but probably not 3 (workstation). This probably needs som
@Jeff, as it is, this probably needs some investigation, but I don't
think it's going to cause any grief to the way the machine fundamentally
behaves. I think we need some feedback from the vendor to see what they
say about this discrepancy.
