My system is AMD Phenom 925 quad core on Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5p AM3 socket
mobo with 4Gb DDR3 + Nvidia GT 8600 graphics card.
I was notified over the weekend by my 'update manager' that Ubuntu 9.10 was
available for upgrade.
My current o/s was Ubuntu 9.04 AMD 64 bi
I saw this bug after I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 and tried to run
'epsxe'. Once I ran 'sudo upx -d epsxe' it fixed the problem...once you
run it once on the executable file, you don't have to run it again. It
would seem that the new kernel has a problem with executables packaged
with UPX-ULC and
Let me clarify that I had epsxe installed before the upgrade and it was
working fine. When I upgraded to 9.10 is when the problem occurred.
The dependencies for epsxe had nothing to do with the crash.
It seems like people are semi aware of the problem as browsing through the
