Public bug reported: I rotated my LCD 180 degrees to portrait mode using the screen dialog in Gnome System/Preferences/Display Everything works fine apparently until you reboot from cold, the log in screen remains at the old landscape orientation until a few moment after you have entered a correct password to log in. This means that the mouse and typing are very difficult unless to swing the LCD back round to type and then swing it back.
I don't expect grub output to be the right way round, but for a polished experience, once the Ubuntu logo is seen things should be correct.
