Here's another update, because I just had a system freeze while using
the linux-image-2.6.15-25-386 (version 2.6.15-25.43), so now I can not
say that this is just related to the 686 kernel version.

No! Not at all! I agree with you completely in that these are errors.
It's just that some people (myself not included) tend to view comments
about grammar or spelling as arrogant ("it's an operating system, not a
dictionary!").

saw this one too. Installed mysql-server for Joomla! and shortly
thereafter lost /etc/resolv.conf
purging resolvconf and cycling eth0 fixed.

I'm also using evolution 2.6.1 on fully updated Dapper 6.0.6.
When I view a piece of mail in evolution and right-click and bring up
the menu item on the senders email address, choosing 'add to address
book', the name does not appear in my personal contacts list (the only
contact list that I have).
Not a kernel-, -lib-, or -util-side issue. The symptom aligns with
various applications fiddling with mixer elements.
