Public bug reported:
Had a folder on my desktop called "my documents" in the top left corner,
connected my iPod - its icon appeared correctly (not on top of my
folder, but next to it) initially - but after shut down / power back up,
the two icons appeared in the same location (upper left). Only other
thing on my desktop is some desklets on the far right side.

Running Drapper 6.06, with all things as upto date as they can be.
Current "fix" is to simply have the folder moved down a "line", and iPod
link appears cleanly.
