Looking at the Debian bug report, the final comment (2 months old) seems to indicate that Fedora use GCJ also, but don't experience the problem. As suggested, it might not even be the fact that Debian/Ubuntu isn't built with Sun's Java that causes the problem. Unfortunately that doesn't help us mu
