i attached syslog and kern.log. Unfortunately, there is no recoverable
Xorg.log, it seems xorg has not enough history for that, logs from 20
Feb of Xorg are lost i'm afraid. Hope it can help you find the issue :)
I have made a preventive tar.gz of all my log/ to preserve what is still
preservable.

I think I can elaborate on that:
As far as I have seen, the upgrade to a new version cleans up the
/var/log/dist-upgrade/ directory by putting all files that are there from a
previous upgrade into a subdirecto
/var/log/syslog, kern.log, and Xorg.0.log may help to diagnose the problem.
I'm removing the duplicate status since its not a pb with update-manager and
unaffecting update-manager.

I was referring to the content of the latest log files in the top
directory not the backup files. These files are the logs of the upgrade
failure from lucid for maverick which is blocked because of the nouveau
