I was referring to the content of the latest log files in the top
directory not the backup files. These files are the logs of the upgrade
failure from lucid for maverick which is blocked because of the nouveau
driver.
The logs in 20110220-2200 are from an upgrade from karmic to lucid. This
is not what you stated in the subject or in the description of this
report where you talked about a failure during the upgrade from lucid to
maverick.

This is a problem with your local mirror and nothing that we can fix in Ubuntu.
A pure guess is that update-manager may have hanged because of the server error
(waiting for a reply or some other reason) excepted that there is no obvious
evidence of a freeze in the logs.
If it happens during a normal use of your system, then please file a new
report.
