Just upgraded to 2.6.28-15 on my HP dv5 and lost sound on speakers, headphones work but with diminished amplification. Doesn't matter if I use alsa, pulse, oss. Boot in with 2.6.27-11 sound is fine. Haven't tried other variants between the two so can't say when they lost it. Suggest staying with

Partly good news on this bug: I've sound for now with 2.6.28-22 kernel, although weaker than with 2.6.27-11 kernel. The problem was that with the newest kernel the two "Analog loopback" channels were unmuted, and this lead to no audio at all (at least in my laptop, a HP Pavilion dv7). But I've no
